August 12, 2022, Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine – Remote Acceptance tests of the Modified Software Package (MSP) for the software and technical set of the Reactor Trip System operating at the Power Unit #3 of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. The modification of the software was related to a need to unify reactor trip algorithms of Power Unit #3 into compliance with the general algorithms of VVER reactors operation at nuclear power plants of Ukraine.
RPC Radiy developed and produced the MSP in accordance with the requirements of the document UYAISH.460842.009.18 Technical Specification “Rivne NPP, Power Unit #3. The software and technical set of the Reactor Trip System (RTS). Unification of reactor trip algorithms. Addendum #18 to the technical specification for development, production, acceptance, and delivery.”
The Modified Software Package is intended for the main and diverse sets of the Reactor Trip System manufactured by RPC Radiy that have been in operation mode at Power Unit #3 of the Rivne NPP since 2007.
The tests confirmed the compliance of the MSP sets to the current norms, rules, and standards of the National Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety as well as to the requirements of technical documentation. The Modified Software Package remains operational and functions correctly in all operation modes provided for in the Addendum #18.
The conclusion of the Acceptance Committee is as follows: “The equipment can be shipped to the Rivne NPP for installation, integration, and acceptance tests as part of the main and diverse Reactor Trip System during the fuel outage period before the Power Unit #3 comes out of repair.
