06.12.2024On November 27, 2024 the equipment set (ESFAS-1) designed and developed for Rivne NPP, Power Unit 4 passed testing at radiy site. The newly approved equipment will replace the existing system originally commissioned in 2004, which is now based on obsolete hardware and software components.
The modernized ESFAS was designed and developed in accordance with technical specification “SS Rivne NPP , Power Unit 4. The Engineered Safety Features Actuation System”, that underwent passed the necessary approval processes, including acceptance by state expert committee.
The final Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for ESFAS-1, conducted on November 27, 2024, was preceded by preliminary tests carried out in June and July 2024.
The results of all testing stages confirm that the delivery set and its components meet the technical with the requirements of technical specifications, as well as current nuclear and radiation safety norms, rules and standards.
ESFAS-1 has demonstrated operational efficiency and ability to perform as intended under all working modes expected during NPP operation, scenarios involving maximum hypothetical accidents. Additionally, the design, programming and operational documentation for the equipment has been fully developed, with quality that meets all applicable Ukrainian regulatory requirements.
The equipment supply set will be delivered to Rivne NPP and installed during the planned outage to replace the currently working system.
Using a reliable digital information and control platform RadICS in modernization projects at nuclear power facilities ensures compliance with the highest technical requirements and provides superior protection for systems that are critical to safety.
