How to Choose Fire Alarm Systems for Production: Tips from Radiy
04.04.2025March 26, 2025 – Routine tests of the Mode and Data Switching Unit (MDSU) designed and manufactured by Radiy specialists were conducted according to the technical specifications ‘Mode and Data Switching Unit. Technical Specifications’, considering the draft change notice No. 3. In particular, access to the multifactor authentication settings and compliance with cybersecurity requirements (in accordance with the cybersecurity test program and procedure) were thoroughly checked. The Commission reviewed the submitted documents and considered positive results of the routine tests of Mode and Data Switching Unit. MDSU fully comply with the stated requirements and K2 cybersecurity level.
Mode and Data Switching Units play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of various systems in industry, energy, automation and transport.
Why MDSUs are important
- System reliability increase. Units ensure steady operation of the equipment through a smooth transition between modes.
- Flexibility and adaptability. Units allow to change operating parameters in accordance with current conditions and needs.
- Operational safety. Units prevent accidents and failures due to precise control and rapid switching.
- Energy optimization. Units reduce energy consumption through proper load distribution.
Application
- Switching between different modes of operation (for example, manual/automatic, standby/main).
- Ensure continuity of processes by responding quickly to changes.
- Processing and transmitting information about current state of the system.
- Integration into I&C to increase the level of control and controllability.
Mode and Data Switching Units are widely used in nuclear power engineering, where on-line control of actuators and display of information about their state are necessary.
