International Partnership to Enhance Energy Security of Europe: Radiy Has Completed Modernization of Safety Systems at Kozloduy NPP in Bulgaria

June 4–6, 2025 – the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Ievgenii Bakhmach, and the General Director of Research and Production Corporation Radiy, Alina Begun, took part in the international nuclear forum BULGARIAN ATOMIC FORUM (BULATOM) 2025 in Varna, Bulgaria. This year, the event focused on the theme: “Bulgarian Nuclear Energy – National, Regional, and Global Energy Security.”
Radiy’s General Director delivered a presentation titled “Advanced Solutions by RPC Radiy for Modernization and Future NPP Projects.” In her speech, she highlighted the company’s deep expertise in nuclear technologies and its readiness to implement projects both in Ukraine and abroad, especially in Bulgaria, where Radiy brings strong experience and significant potential.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian companies Radiy and Radics, together with the Bulgarian Aden Group, won the tender for the modernization of the Reactor Trip System and Reactor Power Discharge and Limitation Equipment for Units 5 and 6 of Kozloduy NPP. The contract includes the design, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of these systems.
Modernization work on Units 5 and 6 began on March 29, 2023, and is currently ongoing.
All equipment for the project is developed, produced, and tested at Radiy’s facilities. Radiy’s products meet all nuclear and radiation safety requirements, including cybersecurity regulations, and comply with international standards such as IEC 62645, IEC 61508, IEC 60880, IEC 61513, IEC 60987, IEC 62443-4-1, and IAEA Std 730-2014, among others.
