Strategy Towards Energy Independence and Security: “Skifia” + Radiy
02.07.2025June 20-22, 2025 - Borys Vintenko, Lead Software Engineer of the Radiy I&C Design Group, took part in the Youth Nuclear Forum, at the Rivne NPP for the second time. The forum was organized by the Ukrainian Nuclear Society with the assistance of Energoatom and Rivne NPP. The event was sponsored by Radiy and Energy SafetyGroup. The purpose of the forum was to bring together experts, scientists and industry professionals to generate new ideas aimed at developing the nuclear power industry in Ukraine. Over 50 participants participated in the forum, including representatives of Ukrainian nuclear power plants and various scientific institutions.
Pavlo Kovtonyuk, the General Director of Rivne NPP, welcomed the guests and emphasized the important role of young people in development of the nuclear industry, as they can bring a fresh perspective to existing problems and facilitate the rapid implementation of advanced technologies.
The central and most interesting part of the forum was the case study competition. The topics were related to the elaboration of strategies aimed at developing the nuclear industry in Ukraine. The forum participants were divided into six teams, each of which was supervised by an industry expert who helped them prepare a case study. The competition was won by a team with our colleague as one of its members. His team presented an extraordinary project on the use of nuclear technologies outside the energy sector. The participants developed an innovative concept for the use of nuclear technologies in medicine, in particular, in the campaign against cancer.
“The jury highly appreciated all the projects, as the teams performed them extremely thoroughly and efficiently. It's really great that the participants used modern technologies, including AI. The projects presented today are the first steps towards their future implementation. I believe that this is an absolutely practical event, practical steps that young people have already taken towards the development of nuclear energy,” said Viktor Kravets, Deputy Director General for Quality and Management of Rivne NPP and jury member.
The forum participants also visited the Rivne NPP, the added water treatment facilities and the training center.
Radiy believes in and works for the future of nuclear power, because it is a technology for a safe and environmentally friendly planet.
