Electric Actuators by radiy: Enhancing Technological Reliability and Safety in Ukraine
20.06.2024Testing and Acceptance of Equipment for Rivne NPP
26.07.2024From July 18 to 19, 2024, radiy and representatives of the nuclear power plant (as the customer) conducted acceptance testing of the position signaling mechanisms (PSM). These mechanisms were designed and manufactured by radiy in accordance with the technical specifications "Position Signaling Mechanisms (PSM). Technical Specifications."
Position signaling mechanisms are used to determine the current position value of the working component of multi-turn pipeline valves, output components of multi-turn electric actuators (MEA), and/or drives in multi-turn electric mechanisms (MEM). They also signal when these components reach their final and/or intermediate positions and generate locking signals to prevent movement of these components after reaching their final positions.
The equipment is used in process control systems at nuclear energy facilities, in nuclear power plant safety systems, and in other industries.
Testing of this equipment was conducted at the radiy testing ground (Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine), in the hydraulic laboratory of the steering hydromechanics plant, and in specialized laboratories. The tests followed a specific program and methodology to verify the completeness and adequacy of the documentation provided by the developer and manufacturer, as well as to assess the functionality, proper operation of the mechanisms, and their compliance with the requirements of technical specifications (TS), design documentation (DD), and regulatory documentation (RD).
The test results were positive and are detailed in the acceptance test protocols. Consequently, the equipment is approved for production for Ukrainian enterprises with rigid safety requirements.
