December 2, 2025 - Comprehensive type tests of the upgraded Signal LED-Light Fixture ASKM-S-R, developed in line with the Technical Specification TU U 27.9-14312430-139:2024, were completed at the Radiy’s testing grounds. The tests were witnessed by a commission comprising representatives of the Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and South-Ukraine NPPs, the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, and Radiy's designers and management.
The commission reviewed a complete set of technical, design, and testing documentation, including programs and procedures for type, radiation, and seismic testing, as well as preliminary positive fire safety and material control assessment reports.
Test results
According to Act No.1 dated December 2, 2025:
- Test results are positive.
- Fixture complies with the technical specifications and the requirements of regulatory documents on nuclear and radiation safety.
- Feasibility of introduced changes No.1 to the Technical Specification has been confirmed.
- Products can be recommended for use at nuclear power facilities in Ukraine.
The Commission recommended sending the draft Change Notice No.1 to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine for final approval.
Technical and design advantages of ASKM-S-R
Based on technical documentation and presentation materials from the manufacturer, the following important features and advantages of the Signal LED-Light Fixture can be highlighted:
- Improved design with quick replacement capability. Replacement of faulty fixtures is performed without dismantling the rail and without tools, from the front side of the panel, due to the bayonet connection.
- Increased reliability and quality control in production. All components and assembly are made at the Company (automated soldering line, multi-stage visual inspection, board varnishing, performance testing).
- Resistance to extreme operating conditions is confirmed by separate protocols:
- Vibration resistance and seismic resistance (SML “ATOMKOMPLEKSPRILAD”);
- Resistance to ionizing radiation;
- Compliance with fire safety and material control requirements.
- Improved optics and visibility of indicators (uniform light diffusion at 180°, stable brightness across the entire viewing area, standard-size red, green, or white lenses).
- Electrical and design features
- Power supply voltage: 24 V DC, ±20% tolerance;
- Current consumption: ≤20 mA;
- Diameter of mounting part: 12.5 mm;
- Connection via high-quality XT30U-M/F connectors;
- Degree of enclosure protection: IP40;
- No exposed live parts.
