Factory Acceptance Testing for Kozloduy NPP Successfully Completed

On April 24, 2024 Exida Certification LLC - the company that previously certified Radiy’s FPGA-based safety Controller (FSC) RadICS to SIL 3 in one channel in compliance with IEC 61508 – completed a Surveillance Audit to extend certification for another 3 years. This time the scope of certification includes new parts of the RPCT – RadICS Platform Configuration Tool: TestSuite and Simulator. This SW helps make the User Application Logic V&V process more convenient and quicker and it considerably decreases human factors errors.
The Audit was finalized by conducting witness testing in the Radics testing area. In addition to test results, the exida Team, which combined consulting and assessment experts, reviewed the procedures and internal standards of Radiy, FSC documents, FSC installation experience to make sure the FSC meets IEC 61508 requirements.
The independent assessment of the effectiveness and technical quality of the FSC RadICS confirmed its compliance with IEC 61508 requirements and all pre-established criteria for highly reliable safety equipment to be used in existing and advanced I&C systems at nuclear facilities.
