November 26–27, 2025 - Qualification and Factory Acceptance Tests were completed for the delivery set of the Control System for Steam Generator Impulse Safety Devices for Rivne NPP Power Units No.1 and No.2. The Control System for Steam Generator Impulse Safety Devices was developed and manufactured by Radiy’s specialists. The tests were performed at the manufacturer's proving grounds. Representatives of the Rivne NPP, the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, and Radiy were participants of the acceptance commission.
The system was designed in line with the technical specifications approved by the Rivne NPP, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, and finalized by Energoatom. The tests also included cybersecurity checks. The results of preliminary and electromagnetic tests have been added to the package of documents.
Factory Acceptance Tests confirmed that:
- Equipment and documentation comply with the requirements of the technical specifications (TS);
- System functions in full in all operating modes;
- Equipment complies with nuclear and radiation safety standards;
- Configuration and design solutions comply with the requirements of the operating documentation;
- Preliminary, acceptance, functional, metrological, and EMC tests were successfully completed;
- Software complies with the verification results;
- Reliability, radiation resistance, and compliance with fault tolerance requirements were confirmed.
Based on the results of its work, the commission established that:
- The Control System for Steam Generator Impulse Safety Devices fully complies with the requirements of the technical specifications and existing nuclear and radiation safety standards;
- The design, process, and operational documentation is complete and sufficient for implementation;
- No findings were identified during testing.
The commission accepted the Radiy’s Control System for Steam Generator Impulse Safety Devices for shipment to the Rivne NPP for modernization of the existing control system at the RNPP.
The Radiy’s Control System for Steam Generator Impulse Safety Devices provides accurate and fast control of impulse safety devices, which play a key role in protecting equipment from emergency overloads and stabilizing steam generator parameters in various power unit operating modes. The implementation of the upgraded control system will enable the Rivne NPP to improve its technological stability, compliance with modern nuclear and radiation safety requirements, and strengthen the overall operational reliability of the plant. This is an important contribution to the modernization of Ukraine's nuclear energy sector and ensuring stable and safe electricity production.
